North Dakota Ranks Highest in Employment of Disabled Veterans

Posted: Updated:

North Dakota ranks highest in the nation for the rate of Disabled Veterans entering the workforce. And those responsible for helping those veterans are getting nationally recognized.

Job Service North Dakota's Veterans Employment Team received the 2013 Mark Sanders Award for Exceptional Service to Disabled  Veterans. The Team includes seven Outreach Program Specialists who are all veterans themselves. The National Association of State Workforce Agencies receives nominations for the Mark Sanders Award from departments all over the country. The Award recognizes staff who demonstrate exceptional service and dedication to improving disabled veterans' employment opportunities and those who help them extend beyond normal expectations.

Nina Carter will have more tonight.
