Families Attend Zoo Boo Event

Posted: Updated:
Kids and their families threw on their Halloween costumes and headed out to the Dakota Zoo earlier today for the Zoo Boo event.

The event was geared highly towards families, and it offered a place for kids to trick-or-treat in a safe environment. Of course, the trick-or-treaters got to see their favorite zoo critters, but one unique aspect about the event was that there were more than fifty local businesses there to hand out treats to kids and their families. And those in charge of the event were more than happy with the turnout.

"There's a lot of things I love about the zoo boo event," says Dakota Zoo board member Dana Pritshet. "I love seeing people come out and support the zoo, and I really love that the zoo is able to offer a family event for the community. It's fun to see the kids in their costumes, and they're so excited. It's a really great event."

Last year, more than 2,000 people came and they were expecting even more today.
