Main Street Minute: Shoe Carnival

Posted: Updated:

We often hear the phase, "The customer is always right." And, that holds true to a new business in the Magic City.

Not only do they pride themselves on keeping the customer happy, but they care about your feet. Well, at least what's on your feet.

If you love shoes, let's just say, you won't be disappointed when you walk inside the Shoe Carnival. The business carries more than 30,000 pairs of shoes with new shipments every week.

"And, if there aren't styles that we have available, I love to hear feedback from customers to find out. What it is we are missing? Because, they do kind of stock just the basics and kind of go off of other sister stores that are in the surrounding areas. So, if there's something we don't have, let me know. We'll get it for you," says general manager Linda Beitler.

This is the third Shoe Carnival in the state. And, this particular business caters to your location. For instance, they carry a lot more boots in Minot.

"For the simple fact of where we're at in the oil field business, and because it's so cold," says Beitler

But that's not all they offer. This is a one stop shop for your family. There is something for men, women and children.

Here at Shoe Carnival, they certainly live up to their name with a fun atmosphere like offering a basketball hoop within the store. And, that's not all. They have the fun wheel, a giraffe ride, and even some hula hoop contests.

"We just call four people up to the front, [and ask] 'Hey who wants to win some free money?' 'I do! I do!' And, it's great to say we're doing a hula hoop contest and get their reaction," says Beitler.

Shoe Carnival is located in the Southgate crossing. They're open Monday to Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 9:30 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 7 p.m.
