MDU Boosts Renewable Energy Sources

Posted: Updated:

Montana-Dakota Utilities is boosting its renewable energy sources with a new agreement today.

MDU signed a 25-year deal with Thunder Spirit Wind LLC to use energy from the wind farm going up near Hettinger. The farm will include 75 wind turbines, producing around 150 megawatts of energy.

The new agreement will provide more stable prices for MDU customers in the southwestern portion of the state.

The wind farm is expected to cost over $300 million.
