Inside Business: Blink Eyewear

Posted: Updated:

Modern trends make glasses a popular  fashion statement. So finding the right pair, or a few of them, is more important than ever.

Whether you need prescription lenses or not, glasses seem to be the hot fashion accessory this year, and Blink Eyewear on the corner of Washington and Broadway in Bismarck is just one place that has many you can choose from. Kelley Docktor opened the store just 7 months ago and she says the location plus the success of entrepreneurs in the area helped her take the leap.

"When I saw this location, I just thought this is such a great spot and I just knew  all the resources that were out there and there's so many people that I know that have started small businesses and had such a positive experience with it and I had just been doing this for so long I though why not and it's just been wonderful," says Docktor.

Docktor has been in the eyewear business for more than 15 years and she says she has seen a lot of change.

"Glasses are made with such high quality now, there's titanium glasses that you can practically drive over," says Docktor.

Docktor says she wanted her store to be someplace comfortable for her customers to come in and relax and with more than 400 pairs of glasses to choose from there should be something for everyone

"For me customer service is huge, I know some people just want to browse and I know that there's lots of shapes lots of colors lots of sizes so if I can help make it an easier experience and something that they have fun doing then I'm very happy to do that," says Docktor.

If you do have prescription lenses, Docktor can call for your prescription or you can bring it in and Docktor will have the lenses made with a lab in town, and have your glasses to you in about a week.
