Special Olympics Tournament

Athletes from all over the state are at Midway Lanes in Mandan for a special tournament this weekend. 

Special Olympics North Dakota is hosting their State Bowling Tournament and have more than 600 athletes from 13 communities across North Dakota competing in the two day event. And more than 200 hundred student athletes from University of Mary, as well as area high schools, were there to help.

"Unique to this event is the youth leadership that we see from the University of Mary student athletes and a number of high school their youth leadership demonstrates the importance of community involvement the maturity and the recognition that the athleticism whether its for people without disabilities or with is very important to inclusion of life," says President/CEO of Special Olympics ND, Kathy Meagher. 

The tournament continues tomorrow morning starting at 9 am.
