Downtown Minot Transforms into Winter Wonderland

Posted: Updated:

It's beginning to look at lot like Christmas in downtown Minot. With the annual Olde Fashioned Christmas Open House only two weeks away, there's a lot of work that goes into transforming all of the shops and businesses into a winter wonderland.

From putting up the 20 foot tree to stringing 15,000-20,000 lights, and wrapping up all the packages, it takes a lot of elves to get things ready for Santa's big visit.

"It's kind of, you know, our little New York City in Minot here, with the lighting of the Christmas tree it kind of starts the wonderful Christmas season and gets people in the mood," says executive director Bonny Kemper, Downtown Business and Professional Association.

The Olde Fashioned Christmas Open House kicks off at 3 p.m. on Friday, November 29.  All of the bright lights come on at 6 p.m. sharp.  For more information about the event, visit: www.downtownminot.com.
