Business Leaders Honor Military Veterans

Posted: Updated:

Veterans Day just passed, and Thanksgiving is two weeks away. But some business leaders have combined the two days. Four years ago, they decided they wanted to honor military veterans with a big meal. They and their employees cook a traditional feast to not only provide veterans with a feast but to also give them a chance to socialize.

"That first year we had 500 tickets, and we've grown to almost a thousand and I think next year we could go up to 1,500. It's a great way to say thank you to our vets, that's what's it's all about and that's why we're here right now," says Steve Schwan, Schwan Pontiac/GMC/Cadillac.

The midday meal at the Bismarck Elks club today included 50 turkeys.
