4-H Activity Day

Posted: Updated:

It was a busy scene at the North Dakota State Fair Grounds yesterday.

The NDSU Ward County extension office teamed up with extension agents from the surrounding counties to host their annual 4-H Activity Day. More than 200 kids packed Heritage Hall in Minot to try their hand at more than 50 different activities. Kids could learn about everything from fur trapping, horse management, archery, and baking. It was day to help kids develop skills for the future.

"It's been shown that kids who are 4-H'ers tend to be more of leaders in their communities later in life," says Gail Slinde, NDSU Ward Co. Extension 4H Agent. "It's just life skill development in a learn by doing atmosphere."

You can check the NDSU extension website at www.ag.ndsu.edu/extension to stay up to date on all their up coming events.
