Williston's First Shopping Center Opens

Posted: Updated:

It's been in the works for years now, but the finish line it finally in sight. The Sand Creek Town Center is going to have retail stores and Menards among other things.

The new shopping area took a big step forward today, with the opening of the first business...just in time for the holiday season.

Complete Nutrition opened their doors today. It's a supplement store, with a twist.

"We focus on weight loss, sports nutrition, and general health. Our big thing is we want to be a little bit different than everybody else," said Franchise Owner Carson Stratman.

Stratman says they don't just give you a bunch of supplements and send you out the door. They help you set up a diet plan, exercise program, and then give you the supplements that best fight your regiment.

"If you don't know what to take, that's awesome. Come on in and talk to us because that's really our whole job, that's what we're here for. We don't expect you to know what supplements to take or what diet plan to take," Stratman added.

The holiday season is just a few days away, which can spell trouble for some diets. But one employee says there are ways to enjoy yourself, while staying healthy.

"I don't want to go home and not eat the plate of cookies my mom makes for me, so for me it's all about portion control, limiting yourself. Enjoy that homemade cookie, but don't go ahead and eat the whole dozen," said Regional Manager Michael Noe.

There is one small thing you can do that will make a big difference.

"The most important thing to take during the holidays is a good multi-vitamin. Our diet tends to change, we end up eating a lot of sweets, a lot of meats, and not a lot of other things. Getting a good multi-vitamin that's going to get you all those nutrients from the veggies and the fruits that you're missing out on," added Noe.

Noe says taking natural oils is also important. The Sand Creek Town Center is the first right after the Buffalo Wild Wings, and Stratman is excited to be the first store open.

"We're alone right now, we're kind of out on an island a little bit, but our customers are already finding us," Stratman added.

There is also a store in Minot by Wal-Mart.
