Tauros Gaining Ground in the Division

Posted: Updated:

What started out as a nightmare scenario for the Minotauros has turned in their favor. Minot has won six straight after winning only two of their first twelve games.  The Tauros care of their division rivals during this streak and have moved five points behind third place Aberdeen.

Minot won two against Aberdeen last weekend and have two more against the Wings this weekend. The opportunity to get these division wins is big for these players.

"It's huge. Those are the points you can't get back when you lose to a division team so it's really important especially early on. A lot of people don't think it's important because playoffs aren't coming for a couple months. We got a ways to go. Every point counts and even at the beginning of the year those points are huge,"says goalie Brandon Wildung.

"It's a dogfight every night in our division. There's no easy games and bottom line we've outworked our opponents the last little while and have come up with results. There's no secret to the success. We just gotta come out and be an in your face, competitive team night in and night out and get to those dirty areas we always talk about and get rewarded," says coach Marty Murray.

Minot plays Aberdeen tomorrow at 8:00 p.m. at home and then travels to Aberdeen for a game Saturday at 7:15 p.m.
