Red Cross Mid-Dakota Chapter Giving Back

Posted: Updated:

After a busy week helping emergency responders stay hydrated and energized while fighting a large fire in Southwest Minot, the Red Cross Mid-Dakota Chapter was back out in the community.

The Minot branch of the Red Cross was at the Dakota Square Mall yesterday helping people show their appreciation for the hard work and sacrifice accomplished by the service men and women at the Minot Air Force Base and Army National Guard Barracks.  Hundreds of people stopped by the table to sign two four-foot-tall holiday cards that will be sent out to those military groups.

"It means the community appreciates all the hard work and sacrifice done by those folks, men and women in the military," says Red Cross Mid-Dakota Chapter director, Allan McGeough. "By signing that card, with all the well-wishes, and little notes and messages and the pictures, it really shows people appreciate their hard work."

Along with the giant cards... Red Cross volunteers created and signed 3,000 more Christmas Cards that will be sent to the Minot Air Force Base.  Those cards will be sent out within the next week.
