Health Department Monitoring a Salt Water Spill In Billings County

The North Dakota Department of Health says it is monitoring a brine and oil release that's reached a tributary to the Little Missouri River.

BTA Oil Producers reported a 650 barrels of salt water and 20 barrels of oil were released from a producing well site which is about 15 miles from Medora.

The spill is located on U.S. Forest Service land and the agency will oversee the cleanup along with BTA Oil Producers and the North Dakota Department of Health.
