Main Street Minute: Speedway Roadhouse

Posted: Updated:

If you're from Minot, this business may bring back some memories. But, if you're new to the area, this is a restaurant to check out.

If you've drove down highway 2 and 52, you may have noticed the Speedway Roadhouse is open again.

"Everyone knew it as a destination. We didn't want to appear that we were going to change what we're offering to the community," says Verno Garrison, owner of the Speedway Roadhouse.

As you walk inside, you may remember the history this business held.

"We had a guy in here the other night who was saying, "I remember my mother bringing me here for my 5th birthday party," says Emmitt Trimble, owner of the Speedway Roadhouse.

Along with remembering the memories, both owners; Trimble and Garrison want customers to enjoy the food.

"We want to keep a simple menu so we can perfect that and not disappoint anybody. And, so far it seems like that's working," says Trimble.

They pride themselves on their prime rib, steak and pasta dishes.

But one dish they needed to have on the menu is...

"The old roadhouse shrimp. Speedway shrimp. And, the orange sauce, which was all over Facebook," says Garrison.

Speedway Roadhouse is known as a place where you can come for warmth and comfort. And, that's something Trimble and Garrison hope to carry out for years to come.

If you want to check out Speedway Roadhouse, they're open Tuesday through Saturday from 4:30 p.m. to 11 p.m. They're located at 7101 Highway 2 and 52 West.
