Police Arrest Man on Criminal Trespassing Charge

Minot police arrested Rodney Smith, 27, on Christmas Eve for criminal trespassing. Around 5 a.m. police responded to a call from the home on the 1600 block of 1st Street Southeast. Smith entered the house and destroyed property.

Police took him into custody, during the transport Smith broke the rear window of the police car with his feet, and escaped for a short period of time. Officers captured him, but Smith continued to resist with violence.

Smith is held at the Ward County Jail, and is charged with criminal trespass, two counts of criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and escape and preventing arrest.
