Don't Buy It Until Try It: Wow Cup

Posted: Updated:

We all know how messy kids can be. Snack time usually means cleaning up a spill or two.  But, there may be a new spill free cup that automatically seals after drinking.

It's lunch time at Creative Beginning Daycare in Minot and for director DeAnn Casavant that means cleaning up lots of little messes.

"Kids find any way to make spills. A lot of the cups that they use, they learn how to make them spill anyway," says Casavant.

The Wow Cup sells for under $10 and automatically seals for no spills, making life at the daycare a little easier.

"It seems like it might work.  But, like I said, I won't believe it until I see it," says Casavant.

There are no spouts, levers or buttons. Just an even seal drinking edge that you fill and attach the lid.

After filling up the Wow Cups with milk, it was finally time to find out what Eli and Palmer have to say about the cups.

You'll notice Eli didn't waste any time to start drinking out of the Wow Cup while Palmer was a little skeptical.

Since the Wow Cup automatically seals itself, it took the kids a few minutes to figure out how they worked. But, after the short learning curve, there was no stopping the two.

Eli and Palmer did anything and everything a typical 2-year-old would do with a cup. They rolled it and tipped it upside down, but still nothing came out.

After a while, they started to get restless. So, they secured their cups and it was time to play.

So, do the Wow Cups earn a seal of approval from the daycare?

"I know the kids had a little hard time trying to figure out how the milk comes out of the cups when they first initially took the cups, and it only took a moment to figure it out, but they seemed to really like them," says Casavant.

You're probably wondering where the Wow Cups are.  Well, Palmer and Eli couldn't part with the cups and wanted to keep them.  The cups were just as advertised on TV: spill proof and kid friendly.

So, this week's "Don't Buy It, Until We Try It," earns a thumbs up.
