Governor Meets With Boy Scouts

Posted: Updated:

Not too many people can say they've had lunch with North Dakota Governor Jack Dalrymple, but after today more than 25 Boy Scout representatives can. The boys and their leaders presented their annual report to him in Bismarck.

The scouts message to the Governor was that scouting is alive and well, both financially and what they give back to the community.

"Scouts of North Dakota gave back over 60,000 hours of service. It's a great outcome because not only are they learning citizenship and values but they're having fun giving back to the community as well," says scout executive Travis Christopher.

The scouts also collected over more than 85,000 of food in their annual food drive.
