SAT Undergoes Changes For 2016

Posted: Updated:

High school students in 2016 will take a much different SAT than their predecessors did.

The College Board recently announced that the admissions exam will be revamped.

More than eight major changes, including the score, the length of the test and essay portion, are being altered to align with common core standards.

"What the SAT's goal is, is to be closer to what student actually learn in high school rather than testing the set of skills that the colleges might find less relevant. They've been having some pressure from colleges with this over the past several years," says Kari Weigel the director of Sylvan Learning center.

The ACT, which is more commonly used in North Dakota, is not changing.
