Former Attorney General Passes Away

The former North Dakota Attorney General Nicholas Spaeth was found dead yesterday afternoon in Fargo.

Spaeth served as Attorney General from 1985 until 1992 when he ran for governor against Ed Schafer. After losing that election he became the senior vice president and chief legal officer for H&R Block and later worked for the Federal Home Loan Bank as executive vice-president.

Spaeth was 64-years-old.
