Price of Gold Rising

Posted: Updated:

The cost of gold is back on the rise. At more than thirteen hundred dollars an ounce, consumers all over are starting, once again, to visit cash for gold stores.

"Everybody needs to sell their gold at different times. Everybody needs money at different times, but whenever the price of gold is up people come in," says Gold Times owner Suzanne Caldwell.

At the highest it's been since September of last year, cash for gold stores are lighting up.

Whether it's a want or a need, the owners of Gold Times have seen people coming in for all different reasons.

Gold Times owner Carlos Mathena says at the store, they've seen people that needed the money to stay where they were living.

"Most of the time people come in thinking their stuff is worthless or worth very little. When they find out its worth a lot more than they thought their reactions are the best thing for me," Mathena says.

The owners at Gold Times say to never assume your gold isn't real, and that they are there to help figure that out.

They're also willing to teach those people who visit garage sales exactly what they should be looking for.
