Highway Patrol Conducts Ride Along

To increase traffic safety on local bus routes the North Dakota Highway Patrol will be conducting a ride along.

On March 26 troopers will be observing traffic from inside the school buses. If a violation occurs, the trooper will radio the information toanother trooper in a nearby squad car to pull that driver over.

The enforcementconsequence for failing to stop as required for a school bus is a $100 fine andsix points being assessed to the violator's driving record.  In addition, the registered owner of a motorvehicle may also be assessed a fine of $100 for the driver failing to stop asrequired for a school bus.
