Posted: Updated:

Minot residents have voiced their concerns about the need to revamp and revitalize the Magic City.

Now, Stantec, a planning and consulting company has drawn up plans to present to the community.

Officials from company are holding an open house where they've identified six neighborhoods including downtown that were significantly impacted by the 2011 flood. These plans potentially could connect these neighborhoods and downtown together that will enhance the overall lifestyle in Minot.

"When the floodway is built, the flood mitigation, project. That's going to be a huge greenway that would connect the whole middle part of Minot. That has the opportunity expand Moose Park. It has the opportunity to connect Roosevelt Park into the downtown area. It also has the opportunity to provide new connections to Oak Park. But, in places that were never in the floodway," says Stantec planner Phil Carlson.

For more information on these projects, there's an open house going until 8p.m. Thursday evening at the Minot Auditorium in room 201.
