Websites Help Teachers Get Classroom Supplies

Posted: Updated:

Kids love learning, but they don't always have all the supplies that they need.

From books, to crayons, and other school items, making sure a classroom is put together can be pricey.

Sunnyside Elementary School teacher Amy Larson says she spends a minimum of $30 a month on the kids in her class.

For many teachers, they end up paying out of pocket.

Even though Ms. Larson's school does receive some grants, sometimes, she sees a learning tool that she knows she needs to have right away.

"You have to keep kids engaged and motivated. A lot of times some of these new games really capture their attention," says Ms. Larson.

The need for supplies isn't just happening at one school. It's happening in classrooms all over Minot. That's why teachers are turning to websites such as Go Fund Me to help get the supplies they need in their classrooms.

"They are our future, and they are the kids that are going to be helping us in the future," she says.
