Foundation Helps Kick Off Library Week

Posted: Updated:

Bismarck Public Library is kicking off National Library Week with events for all ages.

The library teamed up with the Lewis and Clark Fort Mandan Foundation to presents programs about state history. Adults will learn Hidatsa tribe cooking recipes, teens can play "Who wants to be a Fur Trader," and children will get to hear stories about life on the prairie.

"We just thought it would be fun with the anniversary of the state coming up, if we could do something like that. Everybody's really interested in the history of our state and it's because of our history, that our lives have changed and made it what it is today," says library assistant Christine Kujawa.

All of the events are free and open to the public.
