Bismarck Man Receives 14-Years For Murder

A Bismarck man will serve 14-years after being convicted for multiple charges including manslaughter. 

Orlen Smith Jr., 26, plead guilty to voluntary manslaughter, assault resulting in serious injury and assault with a dangerous weapon back in January. Aside from his prison sentence Smith was also ordered to pay about $11,400 in restitution.

Smith was visiting his brother Daniel Smith at his home in St. Michael, when they two got in a fight. Smith stabbed his brother in the chest with a switchblade. Daniel died on scene.

Smith then attacked two others in the residence, and stabbed one person in the arm and the other suffered injuries.
