Prior to this season, Majettes soccer coach Matt Pfau did some experimentation with his attack. He moved an extra midfielder up and it's paid off. Minot's only lost twice all year. What he didn't have to experiment with was back in net. Kaitlyn Stenberg has been exceptional this season and the main reason, the Majettes have been nearly unstoppable all year.
"Really, before the season even started our goal was state. I've been working really hard as a goalie to do my best to get there. A lot of it is my defense. A lot of it is seeing where everyone is at in the field. But then, it's just anticipating and going with my gut," Stenberg says.
The numbers backing up Stenberg are incredible as Pfau explains.
"You look at the stats. We've played ten conference games and she had eight shutouts. Century was the only team that scored on her this year. From a statistical standpoint she's been unbelievable for us," Pfau says.
Minot plays Davies next Thursday in the first round of the state tournament Thursday, May 29.
