Department Of Health Reports Western N.D. Spills

Posted: Updated:

The North Dakota Department of Health was notified of several unrelated spills in the western part of the state.

On May 26, a vehicle crash caused two gallons of crude oil and about 100 gallons of diesel fuel to run into a slough.

On May 27, a valve on a storage tank, at a site owned by OneOK Rockies Midstream, was accidentally opened. About 20 barrels of natural gas condensate were released near Sully Creek, a tributary of the Little Missouri River.

Also reported were two water (brine) spills. One was two miles west of Wildrose, N.D., and the other was at a well site six miles southwest of Crosby. Both spills happened on May 27.

Crews are working to clean up the spills.
