Former Running Back Talks Health

Posted: Updated:
After learning in 2009 that he had type 2 diabetes, former NFL player Marcus Dupree says he didn't let the disease beat him.

Dupree has been touring the nation since 2010, giving presentations on the importance of health and positive energy when dealing with diabetes. This afternoon he gave a speech at St. Alexius Medical to staff and community members.

"Some days are good days. Some days are bad days. I try to eat right, try to exercise and just try to live," says Dupree.

"Marcus Dupree that everybody has heard of, everybody knows. That's going to be very helpful and that what I'm hoping our patients get out of this," says Cindy Renner of St. Alexius.

Dupree will be giving another presentation, which is open to the public tonight at 7 p.m. in St. Alexius' Boniface Meeting room.
