Big Business at Raging Rivers

Posted: Updated:
With gas prices sky rocketing, residents of the Bismarck-Mandan area luckily don't have to travel very far to enjoy a day at the water park.

Raging Rivers in Mandan held their summer kick off event yesterday that brought in more than a thousand people. Whether you want to zoom down the speed slides or take it easy on the lazy river, park manager Kara Haff says Raging Rivers is the only one of it's kind within the region. But because of weather Haff says this is the first weekend they have seen a solid turnout.

"We try as hard as possible to be open we just really pray every morning for the weather to cooperate as long as we're 62 degrees by ten in the morning. We're going to be open for the day. There's some days where it's been a little cloudy and a little misty out there but we persevere," says water park manager, Kara Haff.

Raging Rivers is open daily until the end of August, from 11 AM until 8 PM, of course weather dependent.
