Reveal Your Dignity Program Teaches Modesty

Posted: Updated:
Modesty is the best fashion policy, at least, that's what image consultants are working to promote in high school and college age women. Starting this fall, the fashion program Reveal Your Dignity will teach women that dressing in a more professional and modest manner can get the same amount of attention as dressing provocatively.

We all agreed that showing more skin may not get the type of attention that a lady actually desires.

Kim Zubke took Tesea and Lauren to Vanity clothing store to teach the best dress for each of them.

Each girl was told what did and didn't work for their body type. As well as some no no's for summer attire.

For instance shorts should be no shorter than the length of your finger tips. Zubke says if it's not possible to have two hand prints on the leg of the shorts, they're probably too short.

Since both girls are headed to college this fall, they said taking this training will help them build their wardrobe.

"I want people to get the idea like, she's an independent young woman. She can handle herself," says Tesea Laise-Dukart.

Zubke says Reveal Your Dignity training teaches young women that they can dress in a way that feels comfortable to them, without having to physically reveal too much of themselves.

"You can really wear whatever you like despite what other people are saying. If you're more comfortable dressing modestly, you can do that without feeling like you're not fitting in because it's your own style," says Laise-Dukart.

Zubke says as part of the program, the girls, as well as others across the nation will be given a beauty boot camp and then 10-months of training as a junior fashion stylist.

"They learn that they can dress modestly, while still having their own style and feel good about themselves," says Clausnitzer.

Zubke says she hopes girls who join the program will in turn go out and teach other women the best way to dress for themselves.

Training for Reveal Your Dignity will start in August at the University of Mary. Sign up for the program at revealyourdignity.org  Applications will be accepted until Aug 16.
