A former Minot State Football player has been sentenced to one year in jail.

Jesse Ili was facing the possibility of multiple years in jail after being found guilty in May of several charges including simple assault on a peace officer.

Ili was also sentenced to two and a half years probation. According to the Ward County Clerk of Courts, Ili will receive credit for the 85 days he's already served. If Ili completes his probation without incident, the felony charges will be reduced to misdemeanors on his record.
