Mandan Park Holds Annual Cares Program

Posted: Updated:

Mickey Mouse and Barney underwent surgery this afternoon in Mandan.

The annual St. Alexius and Kohl's Cares Program was held at Dykshoorn park. Along with games and food, kids were encouraged to bring their stuffed animals in to get "patched" up by the staff at St. A's.

"Kids really learn through playing. If we can bring their little buddy in and have some of the doctors and nurses work with their stuffed animals it's a less scary experience for them," says St. Alexius Community Health Services Coordinator Sandy Tschosik.

The program also gave out free ID cards to all the children and their parents.
