PSC Searches for Answers Regarding Rail Delays

Posted: Updated:

There's still no progress in the fight to move back logged rail cars full of grain. The Public Service Commission wanted answers back in April and was told the end of July it would see some results.

The PSC still isn't satisfied and held an inquiry today to talk about the issue.

Train companies blamed poor weather this past winter, but said numbers are progressing. The discussion eventually led to the possibility of litigation.

"I want to cut our company some slack here. We are doing as much as we can and as fast as we can. And we'll continue to do that and litigation isn't going to solve that," says Attorney John Olson.

The Canadian Pacific Railway was also involved in today's inquiry. The PSC told both railways it would like more information on each commodity they transport within the next 21 days.
