Main Street Minute: Love on a Leash

Posted: Updated:

Where do you go when Fido needs a haircut? One business in Minot offers a convenient option to spruce up your pet's do.

"We do anywhere from dogs to cats to, we've trimmed nails on guinea pigs," says Kendra Craig the owner of Love On A Leash.

Animal grooming is not a new trade for Kendra Craig, who brought her passion for pets with her to the Peace Garden State.

"I've actually been grooming for ten years," says Craig. "So, I've been in the dog business for quite a few years, and when we moved to North Dakota, I decided that I wanted to get back into it, and wanted to stay with it," she says.

Craig says making your pet feel at home is key to the job.

"I really try to treat every dog as if they were my own, and how I would want my personal dogs treated," Craig says. "That's something that a lot of people look for."

But as Kendra's clientele continued to grow, she realized that the community needed a place to board their four-legged friends.

"A lot of my clients were questioning if I would watch their dogs and over Christmas of last year I ended up with eleven dogs in my home, just watching them, that were client's," Craig says. "So, after that I told them that I would look in to opening something up for them."

Love on a Leash is located on 2520 20th Ave SE. Their facility is in one of the white garages down the gravel road next to Kenworth.
