Sweet Treats for a Good Cause

Posted: Updated:

A local business put on an extra "sweet" event to raise money for North Dakota kids through the Children's Miracle Network.

Dairy Queens all over the nation hosted Miracle Treat Day today. The proceeds from the 4th Ave. location in Minot will help local kids like James Martins who is battling a serious illness. James helped serve up blizzards to cool down customers and raise money to help himself and his friends get better.

“All the money that is collected in the state of North Dakota goes Sanford Children's Hospital in Fargo. Great place. I personally know children that have been treated there, so we're excited to be involved," says Dairy Queen owner Becky Beechie.

“For the community to show us love and to really welcome us has been extremely special. James has been recovering, so he's doing well, but this has been very hard for all of us, so thank you,” says Jame's mother Aubrey Martins.
