Marauders Women's Soccer

Posted: Updated:

The University of Mary is ninth in the preseason women's soccer coaches poll in the Northern Sun.

The top four-teams all received first-place votes are Mankato, Duluth, Winona and Southwest.

The Marauders have 26-players in camp, 17 of them are returning to the program and of the nine-newcomers, eight are freshman.

UMary is picked higher than it finished last season.

"I love the start of the new year. The new beginning. The new tries at what we did last year and maybe a little bit of a chance to redo things that we wish would have happened differently last year so that's the fun part of it just like all of my players. I'm just as excited, just as nervous and just as eager to get back out on the pitch," says head coach Sarah McNulty.

The conference coaches have picked Andrea Muller as the Marauders offensive player to watch.

Goal keeper Shelby Buttron is the teams defensive player to watch, and if you want to watch the UMary women this fall you have no excuses because the Marauders first eight games of the season are at home.
