Grant will Expand XC Skiing

Posted: Updated:

Thanks to First National Bank and Trust, the Minot Park District will be expanding its cross country skiing program this winter.

The district was one of two winners of the national Live First Community Grant. The $3,000 award will be used to buy 12 sets of cross country skis, boots and poles, that visitors can rent.

"Cross country skiing is another thing you can do to get outside and stay active even in the winter time, get some good exercise, enjoy the outdoors,  and get some fresh air and enjoy nature,” says Ron Merritt of the Minot Park District.

The district will groom cross country skiing trails at Oak Park and the Souris Valley Golf Course. Stay tuned to the Park District Website and Facebook page for more rental details.
