MomsEveryday: Stinky Kids

Posted: Updated:

How often do your kids hop in the tub?

Somtimes kids stink. I'm not referring to their attitudes, they literally need a bath. We have some guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics that will prevent your child from being the stinky kid in class.

Kids aged six to 11 should bathe once or twice a week minimum. If they've gotten dirty, gone for a swim or become sweaty. They need to bathe again. Tweens and teens should shower or bathe daily, and typically want to anyway.

Children typically start getting B.O. when they go through puberty, but can get it before this stage too. Because many kids are entering puberty early, they should be given deodorant and antiperspirant before puberty strikes.

Does your child have stinky feet? Wash their shoes if you can, and consider spraying lysol or sprinkling baking soda in their shoes at night.
